On November 9, 2026 at Sala Rossa, the very first album by The Air Contains Honey will be launched in style. The Air Contains Honey performs only once a year to make every show a special event. Taking an unconventional approach to communal music-making, The Air Contains Honey present their debut album, The Air Contains Honey Sings Quotes. Founded by Montreal-based Adam Kinner and Jacob Wren in 2018, the project combines professional and amateur singers repeating quotes from literature and theory over lilting arrangements that land somewhere between musical theatre, indie pop and spiritual jazz.
The Air Contains Honey’s lineup is ever shifting but the performance will feature some or all of the following members: Pietro Amato, Patrick Conan, Catherine Fatima, Michael Feuerstack, James Nicholas Dumile Goddard, Thanya Iyer, Adam Kinner, Liam O’Neill, Lara Oundjian, Pompey, Rebecca Rehder, Erin Robinsong, Frédérique Roy, Mulu Tesfu, and Jacob Wren.
Eli Tareq El Bechelany-Lynch is a trans Arab poet, and a publisher at Metonymy Press. They are the author of knot body, published by Metatron Press in 2020, and The Good Arabs, published by Metonymy press in 2021. The Good Arabs won the Grand Prix du Livre de Montreal and was the honorary mention for the Arab American Book Awards and the Khayrallah Prize in 2022.
Vinyls of The Air Contains Honey Sings Quotes and limited-edition T-shirts will be available at the show, all designed by Jeremy McCormick. The record is released by Quindi Records based in Florence, IT.
The Air Contains Honey would like to thank the Conseil des arts de Montréal for their financial support.
